There are about 30 theaters in Kiev . The variety of opera and ballet performances is quite large. Concerts of orchestral and chamber music are essential parts of the theatre repertoire. The plays start at 19 pm. At weekends some stages give morning shows at 12 am and 3 pm .

Prices

The price of the tickets depends on a play and may range from 5 UAH for children's show to 100 UAH for evenings shows. For a foreign star concert price could be up to 1000 UAH.

One of the main Kiev 's theater stages. The repertoire numbers over 50 works. The popular opera shows are given in the original languages.

Ivan Franko National Drama Theatre

The theatre cherishes the traditions of Ukrainian theatre but tries to combine them with the achievement of modern European drama. Since 1990s the theatre has toured a lot. Lesya Ukrainka National Drama Theatre

One of the most popular theatres in the capital is ideally located in the historical part of Kiev , a few steps from Kreschatik. The ancient building, the so-called Bergonye's house, for more than a century has been housing different theatrical troupes and for 80 years has been associated with the Theater of Russian Drama.
