Taras Shevchenko national museum
The museum was founded in 1943, right after Kiev 's liberation from the Nazi invaders. The museum includes pieces of work of the most famous Ukrainian poet, writer and painter Taras Shevchenko. The collection amounts to about 70 000 original documents and is a tribute to the memory of Kobzar (Taras Shevchenko). It depicts his life and creative work, his social and artistic milieu. Visitors have a nice opportunity to learn some interesting facts from the writer's life.
